The previous owner of my 09 R6 installed carbonin airbox covers which look nice and aparaently save some weight. That's all fine and dandy, but the problem I'm facing is that the airbox feels a bit too eaxy to remove. Didn't have this issue with my previous bike, so I'm wondering did he screw something up or is it something else?

Look for mounting tabs or screws that are damaged or missing. Also inspect the carbonin covers' fit to ensure they align correctly.

From what I've been reading about carbonin parts, they're designed for easy removal for quick service, ideal for racing applications. How easy does it come off? Like barely hanging on ready to fall off or sitting there and you need to pull on it to get it off?

It's possible the previous owner might have misplaced some of the original hardware.. which is a bit of disappointing.
Or maybe the Carbonin covers aren't an exact fit like the OEM ones.. sometimes aftermarket parts can be a little finicky.
Have you tried comparing the Carbonin covers side by side with diagrams of the stock airbox assembly?
That could help you find some clarity 👑
