2017 R6 front rebuild

I figured in an accident and the front end of my 2017 R6 is trashed!! I've checked a couple of times and I guess I'm lucky that the main damage is just the headlight assembly and fairings.. Frame, forks, everything else seem to be intact! I'm planning on replacing the headlight assembly with an aftermarket LED unit, thinking of getting a full aftermarket fairing kit, probably carbon fiber.. what other small parts will I need that don't typically come with these aftermarket options? I want to make sure I order and purchase everything in one go

Oh, that sounds like a bad crash!!! You're lucky the main damage ISN'T YOU. You should definitely get the complete headlight assembly, which means you should have all the wiring harness and mounting brackets compatible with your LED unit or something since some kits don't really have it. Then also double or maybe even triple check if you need headlight adapters!

I'm sure the full kit means that it's all in there already. but you need to make sure that you got all the tools you need. like the right screwdrivers, ratchet and socket set, plastic clip removal tool, even a glove and magnetic light

Great to hear you're restoring the R6! When it comes to aftermarket parts, just a couple of things to keep in mind: Make sure your new LED headlight has the right brackets and wiring included, and double-check if your fairing kit comes with all the necessary mounting hardware,sometimes it doesn't. Also, don't overlook the turn signal mounts, and you might want to pick up a windshield if it's not part of the kit. If you're feeling uncertain, it could be a good idea to buy the fairing kit and headlight together from a reputable source to ensure a proper fit.

Man, that sucks but glad that the damage wasn't worse!
Sometimes, aftermarket units don't come with the exact brackets or screws you need so better make sure you get all the mounting hardware for the headlight.
For the fairings, keep an eye out for things like Dzus fasteners but I'm not 100% sure if the carbon fiber kit uses them.. or any small plastic trim pieces or infills that might have broken, and possibly new mirrors since those often attach to the fairing stay.
Have you also checked your front turn signals?
They might have been integrated into the stock fairings and you might need aftermarket replacements or adapters..

If you wanna do aftermarket headlights and fairings, just remember you'll probably need some brackets, clips, bolts, and maybe wiring adapters. Should check if mirrors or trim are needed too.
