R6 shuts off right after start bought it as a project

I picked up a non-running 2008 R6 as a project bike. It powers on and starts, but dies after a couple seconds. No major mods as far as I can tell, just a slip-on exhaust and aftermarket levers.

I'm getting code 43, but not sure where to start. Anyone dealt with this on a stock or near-stock setup?

Code 43 usually means an issue with an ignition coil or spark plug. Since it starts then dies, it could be a weak spark or fuel issue. Id start by checking the plugs and coil connections, or maybe swap coils to see if the code follows. Pretty common even on mostly stock setups.

Have you checked whether the tip-over sensor is mounted correctly and if the fuel pump primes fully when you turn the key on?

Good pickup for a project. Code 43 can be a rabbit hole, but I’d also double check the tip over sensor and side stand switch since it fires then dies, those get overlooked a lot on project bikes.
