New to the forum and need advice on setting my stock suspension on my 2006 R6. I refreshed the forks with new seals and 15w oil last winter, but didn't touch the rear. I'm heading to the track in a few weekends at VIR in Virginia. Looking for a baseline setting since I can tweak it there. I weigh 165 pounds.

i'm thinking you can do preload 4-5 lines, rebound 4 clicks out, compression 6 clicks out for the front suspension and then the rear you could do preload stock, rebound 12 clocls out, and compression 10 clicks out... i hope this is simple enough to understand. let me know if this works out for you and have fun at vir!

Welcome aboard lol at 165, you're in a good spot where stock settings aren't totally terrible. Give the front a bit more rebound if it feels like a pogo stick, and leave the rear alone till it protests, then bribe it with preload.

I'd say start with factory baseline, then go one or two clicks stiffer on compression if it feels too soft on corner entry.

I think for the front, start with compression 2-3 clicks out, rebound 3-4 clicks out, then preload at 3 lines showing. It's a little different than suggested by @ranger.danger over here but I guess you could try both? For the rear, you need to set the sag to roughly 30mm, rebound 2-3 clicks out, compression 1-2 turns out. Hope this helps!

For your 2006 R6, weighing in at 165 lbs, here's a good starting point, for the front forks, aim for 6 lines of preload showing, with compression set to 8 clicks out and rebound at 1 click out. As for the rear shock, you'll want to set the sag to about 30mm, with both compression and rebound also at 8 clicks out.

From there, feel free to make adjustments at VIR based on how the bike feels. And don't forget to bring your tools for any tweaks

If you weigh 165 lbs, I'd suggest starting with about 30-35mm of sag in both the front and rear. Set your compression and rebound about 10 clicks out as a starting point. That should get you on the right track for VIR, and then you can adjust from there.
