I keep reading people talking about lowering bikes and how well they handle and all that fun stuff, so I started thinking this mod. Is lowering it worth it or is it just for show? What are the potential drwabacks?

I think it depends on why you're doing it, if you're shorter and want more confidence at stops, totally makes sense. It can help with flat footing and low speed control but yeah, there are trade offs, lowering affects handling, especially cornering clearance and suspension travel.

I'd be concerned about ground clearance and suspension travel, lowering can mess with handling, especially on uneven roads or corners, even if it looks cool or feels more planted.
